Filmed in 2007, shortly before Salon Gloria in Berlin-Schöneberg closed forever: Gloria took over the salon in 1972, inheriting an interior that was already old and worn from decades before. A young blonde client enters, receives a brief, matter-of-fact greeting from the impeccably styled team in classic smocks and glasses. Then the forward shampoo wash at the basin is carried out by the young apprentice (traditionally called "Lehrmädchen" – girl apprentice in old German salon terms). The technique is straightforward, rough and efficient – no frills, just practical work under the strict old-school hierarchy. Pure authentic Berlin Friseur atmosphere from an era long gone.
